Veneers and Laminates

Veneers are thin coverings or shell like structures placed on the teeth to give them a better shaped look. They look just like natural teeth. Apart from giving a shape, veneers are also used in cases when whitening can’t remove the teeth stain. They can also be used for chipped or crooked teeth. The dentist can choose from porcelain veneers or composite-resin veneers.

Laminates are similar to veneers but are thinner than them. Also, less enamel has to be removed to place them on the teeth. Laminates are a bit costlier than veneers. Veneers or Laminates – the choice is made based on the quality of your teeth and the underlying problem that needs to be addressed. Minor chips or staining can be covered with laminates. But for major chips in the tooth, veneers are a better and more stable choice.
