A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth. Two types of dentures are available – complete and partial. Complete dentures are used when all the teeth are missing. These are often suggested for aged people. Once all the teeth are removed, conventional complete dentures are ready to be placed after about eight to twelve weeks. Immediate complete dentures, on the other hand, can be immediately placed after the removal of teeth. Partial dentures consist of replacement teeth attached to a gum-coloured base. These are used when some of the natural teeth are still present. In place of dentures, you can also go for dental implants. But the cost is high if you go for implants instead of dentures.
